Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid – OFSTED compliant

The level 3 award in Paediatric First Aid is a two-day course. The course content is delivered in a relevant and upbeat manner. Numerous interactive activities are designed to increase knowledge and skills for all types of learners. The course meets the requirements and guidelines set out by the Department of Education’s statutory framework for the EYES (Early Years Foundation Stage) and Ofsted. It is imperative that any setting with young people has a fully qualified first aider always on site. This includes covering for staff holidays and sickness.

Delegates must attend both days and must be 16 years of age to qualify. The days can be consecutive or over a period not exceeding 6 weeks.

  • CPR and use of an AED
  • Choking procedure
  • Fractures and bandaging
  • Wounds, bleeding and burns
  • Anaphylaxis and asthma
  • Epilepsy and seizures
  • Head and spinal injuries
  • Effects of heat and cold
  • Bites and stings
  • Eye injuries
  • Other chronic medical conditions
